In 1944, while World War 2 was going on, the Americans helped fight the Germans for the French. The day they fought is what people now refer to as "D-Day."
About a week ago, my dad rented a car so that we could go to a city called Honfleur, which is near a museum about D-day. Driving there took two long, boring hours, but when we got to our hotel in Honfleur to unpack and walk around, we realized how beautiful the town we were staying in was. It was a cute little place with a river in the middle of it, and lots of boats were parked next to the docks.

The next morning, we went to a castle built in 700, called Mont Saint Michelle. It was a tiny island with a village at the bottom, and a tower on top!!! The island is surrounded by water when the tide is in, and sand when the tide is out. While we were there, the sand was around us.

On the way driving back home, we saw a full double rainbow and my dad decided to mimic what a nature-loving guy did when he saw one in Yosemite, which provoked yet another person to mimic it with an ice cream shop.

Wow. That guy really doubled up his overreacting when he saw a double rainbow. It must have been funny when your dad mimicked him. That castle was really cool.
